A little more about Pat
I made my decision to become a physical therapist when I was 16 years old. I had first heard about physical therapy when my brother had polio, but I was only 8 then, and I don't know how much that influenced me. When I was 16, an older friend talked so enthusiastically about becoming a physical therapist that I became enthralled with the idea. I volunteered at a local hospital and never looked back. Physical therapy has changed and grown dramatically over the years and I have loved the challenge of keeping up as we have added new treatment options and an increasing emphasis on Wellness and Fitness. I feel very fortunate to have chosen a profession that I still love.
Pamela Fletcher, P.T.
In 1986, I earned a B.S. in Physical Therapy with honors from New York University. Prior to that, I attended Sarah Lawrence College and SUNY Purchase with a concentration in biology, psychology and performing arts (music and dance). For my first two years as a licensed physical therapist, I was employed at Northern Westchester Hospital Center working in acute care and out-patient settings. After that and until present, I have worked at Katonah Physical Therapy, provided per diem coverage at other out-patient offices and provided home care. I consider myself a general practitioner with a concentration in orthopedics for all ages.
Prior to, and during my years as a physical therapist, I have taught dance and creative movement classes, T'ai Chi and pre and post-natal exercise classes. As a member of the Arthritis Foundation, I have offered classes for PACE (People with Arthritis Can Exercise).
I bring to KPT a passion for movement, an extensive training in various movement techniques, and 18 years of experience as a physical therapist. Ten years of study in ballet and modern dance has been followed by an ongoing practice of T'ai Chi. Music, meditation and nutrition have been an integral part of my training and are areas of study I continue to pursue. My educational background, movement studies and many years of practice as a physical therapist, provide me with excellent experience, passion for my work and compassion for my clients.

I have been a physical therapist for more than 20 years. In 1984, I earned a B.S. in Physical Therapy from Boston University. I was employed at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City for four years, with rotations in orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary care, and medical/surgical areas. I pursued my interest in orthopedics and sports medicine by joining Sports Training Physical Therapy in New York City, where I worked for over eight years. I became the director of Physical Therapy at Sports Training Physical Therapy, overseeing a staff of 10 physical therapists. After starting a family and moving to Westchester I worked at Patricia Hammer Physical Therapy, and joined Katonah Physical Therapy, PC in 2001.
Since becoming a physical therapist I have taken extensive and varied continuing education courses. These courses have allowed me to integrate a variety of techniques when designing and implementing individualized rehabilitation plans for my patients.
