What We Do

Arthritis:
Nothing you can do about it? Not true.  Let us show you how to keep or improve your flexibility and strength. We will help you to learn to live at your highest possible level of function and enjoyment of life. We will teach you the management skills you need in order to live with your arthritis (see PACE below).

PACE (People with Arthritis Can Exercise):
Working with the Arthritis Foundation (
http://www.arthritis.org) we offer small group exercise programs to help you learn how to safely keep moving in spite of your arthritis.

Dizziness/Vestibular Conditions:

If your doctor has determined that your dizziness is the result of an inner ear problem or from some type of head trauma, vestibular physical therapy may help you. We have a physical therapist who is certified to treat these conditions. If you would like to speak to her call: Pat Larkin, P.T. at 914-232-3306.

Fall Prevention:
If you or someone you know has started to fall more as they are getting older, perhaps our Fall Prevention Program would help.  Call 914-232-3306.

Fitness and Prevention:
Sometimes you may want the expertise of a physical therapist to help you set up an exercise program for general fitness, to improve posture, or to prevent bone and muscle weakness. If you want to talk about any of these programs, call us at: 914-232-3306.

Pilates:
A physical therapist certified in mat Pilates may be what you need if you have had trouble learning the concepts in a group class; you have had pain during Pilates classes; or you are trying to get back to Pilates after an injury.

Orthopedics:
We are a general orthopedic physical therapy practice with lots of experience in treating conditions such as sports injuries (of the young and old), pinched nerves (low back and neck), shoulder impingements, arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery, and many other common and some "unusual" conditions.

Kids and Sports:
When children get injured playing the sports they love, you need help.  We are physical therapists who know sports – and kids.

Neurological:
We also treat several neurological conditions such as MS, Parkinson Disease and balance disorders.

MS:
We have therapists who have been trained by The National Multiple Sclerosis Society (
www.nationalmssociety.org) to understand what MS does to the body and mind – and what you can do about it through the right kind and amount of exercise.

Parkinson Disease:
There are many ways to help the patient (and family) that is faced with this disease.  We have therapists trained by The National Parkinson Foundation
www.parkinson.org in the most current methods.  Let us help you learn the best exercises to keep you going.

Women's Health:

Osteoporosis and Osteopenia:
The Osteoporosis Foundation recommends that strength training exercises be a part of the treatment of osteoporosis and osteopenia.  Our therapists are trained to develop an appropriate home exercise program for you.  Call if you would like to speak to a therapist about this, or if you are ready to schedule an appointment you can speak to the receptionist.
